As summer fades into fall, we at Junk That Funk reflect on a productive season filled with community engagement and sustainability efforts. This summer, we hosted a total of four e-waste recycling events in July alone. Thanks to our dedicated community members, we successfully collected nearly 50,000 lbs of electronic waste from over 750 drop-offs.

Impressive E-Waste Statistics

In August, we continued our momentum, collecting just over 26,000 lbs of discarded items through an additional 400 drop-offs. To date, our e-waste events have accumulated an impressive total of 245,000 lbs of recycled electronics. This achievement not only highlights our commitment to environmental sustainability but also showcases the community's dedication to responsible disposal.

Giving Back Through Technology

In September, we received exciting news regarding our computer donations. Our computer roundups are donated to the Smiles Foundation in Toronto. These computers are sent to their training centers in the Dominican Republic, where they help provide disadvantaged youth with courses in health and oral hygiene, among other valuable subjects. Additionally, some of these computers found their way to the Carigara Municipal Library in the Philippines, where they serve as essential workstations for students.
