Hey Folks,

We’re hosting another E-Waste Round Up!

Where and When:

Saturday October 12th, 2013

10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Walter Baker Park
Maple Grove – parking lot
Ottawa, Ontario

The City of Ottawa has this posted on their website here. We’ve been doing these for the last few years, and each year we literally save a few tonnes of household electronics from going into a landfill. Many people don’t realize that the city WILL NOT pick up certain items from a curb side on “garbage day”. These include things like old televisions, computer monitors, laptops, copiers, fax machines, etc. If you put them out – they just won’t go anywhere. Every year, about 3000 tonnes of E-Waste end up in landfills – just in Ottawa. That’s 300 garbage trucks full of the stuff. Not cool. Many people don’t realize that almost all consumer electronics can be reconstituted or re-purposed in some way.

We are also accepting industrial, commercial, and institutional material as well, so if you have any of that, bring it with you and drop it off with us!

Here’s a few stats to chew on about the stuff. See you on the 12th!
